Dr. Rao earned her medical degree at Coimbatore Medical College in India, completed her residency at Kingsbrook Jewish Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, her fellowships at Brookdale Hospital in Brooklyn, NY and Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. as a third year resident she was awarded the honour of “Outstanding Resident of the year’; The Jefferson Fellowship was an additional training in Hematology with attention to coagulation and blood disorders Dr. Rao joined Foundation Hematology/Oncology in 1993. In 2014 she became a part of the Massachusetts General Physician Organization continuing to work in Nashua caring for patients. She is also board certified in Palliative medicine and believes in applying primary palliative principles to all her patients, especially incurable cancers and blood disorders.
